Young Entrepreneurs Business Week experience is not complete with our most valuable resource, our volunteers. Our volunteers are essential for us to carry out our mission. Young people who understand business, economics and what it takes to make a profit will become informed voters and citizens. In addition, volunteers will be promoting the private enterprise system which is so important to a vibrant and healthy economy. It is this economy that provides all Americans with an opportunity for a quality life and a quality education. We have volunteer opportunities that range in commitment levels and responsibilities.
The Business Week
Company Advisor (CA) program is our most demanding, but also our single most rewarding opportunity. As a CA you will rise to the challenge of getting your team of “future business leaders” moving in the right direction to accomplish their goals. Additionally it is important to not overlook the professional development opportunity. As a CA will participate in business seminars on current business topics, network with other business professionals and enhance your time management, communication and mentoring/coaching skills.

We also need a diverse group of
judges for our student presentations, which take place on Friday during the business week. Companies develop two presentations, a Stockholders Presentation and an Emerging Entrepreneurs Business Plan Presentation. We need judges to participate in one session of judging, morning or afternoon. The time commitment is approximately 4 hours, which includes a meal and time to meet students individually. We are putting together an elite group of
Expert Mentors, who will spend a ½ day, approximately 4 hours to speak with and support YEBW companies as they put together their business plans. As we expand this outreach program, Fall 2009, Expert Mentors will also have the distinct privilege of supporting individual students throughout their educational and future successes!

Of, course, let’s not forget those individuals who keep the students excited, interested and on the edge of their seats. Do you have a good entrepreneurial story to share? Do you work for a company with good name recognition among teens? Can you speak about current hot topics in today’s business news and make it applicable for teens? Do you have knowledge or information relating to marketing, finance, investing, or operations? What about consumer information such as buying a car or understanding insurance? We are always looking for the right person to energize and excite them. Learn more
