In partnership with the Austin Entrepreneurship Program and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) in the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU), Young Entrepreneurs Business Week (YEBW) allow students to take part in college accredited programs. Students who participate in YEBW are better prepared to successfully transition to higher education, enter the work force, and become successful entrepreneurs and business people in a global marketplace.
We are making an effort to mail information to teachers, counselors and administrators of Oregon's public, private, parochial and charter schools. We know you are dedicated to providing your students with the best educational opportunities possible. If you are interested in receiving a packet of information please contact us or download any documents you want from our website. We have ambitious goals and need your help to reach the students and families.
Young Entrepreneurs Business Week (YEBW) is about:
- Entrepreneurship
- Financial Literacy
- Leadership
- Teamwork
- Competition
- Friendship
- College life
- And so much more!
Participants experience what it is actually like to be an entrepreneur in today's exciting business world. Students are assigned to a "company" with 10-12 high school students from Oregon. Under the leadership of their elected CEO, CFO, COO and CMO each company participate in a business simulation (BIZSim), competing for market share and develops start-up business venture from the ground up. From researching and writing business plans to competing in the exciting Emerging Entrepreneur Business Plan Competition, students make connections between what they are learning and their own real-world experiences and ambitions. Students work one-on-one with numerous business professionals throughout the program, gaining priceless insight into the world of business and experiencing what it means to be a valuable, productive member of the work force.
While their Company Advisor guides them throughout the entire week, students also work with financial, marketing and business experts. In addition, they have the opportunity to speak with some of Oregon's most influential business executives during general assemblies and small group workshops. Most importantly, business professionals provide students with the knowledge, skills and support they need to succeed long after they leave the program.
