The Expert Mentor’s role is to challenge and support an individual company. One of the major projects the companies put together is called The Emerging Entrepreneurs Business Plan. The students look to their assigned Expert Mentor for help in putting together the operations, financial and marketing plans. The expert mentor spends approximately 4 hours with their assigned company answering questions, troubleshooting problems, giving students a "reality check" on projections, and providing support and encouragement to students. Once you register as a mentor we will notify you of the time and location.
An expanded on-line form of the Expert Mentor role will be launched Fall of 2010. The goal is to create a forum where the Expert Mentors are encouraged and supported, to continue providing support to individual students throughout the school year. If a student chooses to be a part of the progressive nature of this program, mentors will have the opportunity to follow students throughout their high school careers and beyond.
